Persistant drought and unemployment were major concern that pushed Sisters of the Holy Cross to come out with a strategy that would alliviate poverty.
Thorough research was conducted with serious consideration put in place.

This Agricultural and Vocational Training program is under the Holy Cross Sisters Zimbabwe, situated in Masvingo Province, working to impart eco-friendly farming methods to vulnerable rural youths.
We believe that investing in agriculture and providing rural youths with vocational skills will catalyse a significant role in advancing their country's progress towards reaching Sustainable Development Goals.
We work hand-in-gloves with local communities, in adressing their unmet needs and Transform their livelihood.
Our Goal is to have a free of charge Agricultural and Vocational Training College which will provide vulnerable youths with living skills and above all it will alliviate poverty.
The vocational training center will definately give the future of my children a better defination.
I was homeless and did not know what my life would be,but when Sisters of the holy Cross came in this area they understood my problem, gave me shelter, clothing and above all employment.They have assisted me to grow morally and spiritually.

Having noted the magnitude of poverty within rural youths and women,Holy Cross Sisters acquired 210 hactares of land. Diversified farming activities which are being practiced are assisting rural people to feed their families, pay school fees, survive drought and adapt to changing climate.
Sisters of the Holy Cross have promoted unity of purpose among rural people,this has instilled the sharing of information and develop their capacity for food security,ecconomic opportunity as well as sustainable use of natural resources.Our approach will alleviate poverty and build resiliency in drylands of the Masvingo province .
